Green Cleaning

Environmentally Responsible

Cleaning for appearances may be the industry standard, but that has never been sufficient for EMI. We understand the harmful impact that mainstream cleaning products and chemicals have on the environment and on individuals. EMI is committed to its longstanding standards for human health and ecological responsibility.

EMI is a leader in the industry for embracing the "green cleaning" concept. It is integrated into our corporate culture and every aspect of our service delivery through our High-Performance Green Cleaning Program. We are among the most efficient, knowledgeable and expert companies in the industry about environmentally sustainable cleaning and maintenance, because we have been doing it for so long.

Green cleaning is not just a fad or marketing strategy for us — it's a way of life.

Teaming with Green Industry Experts

EMI vigilantly researches and leverages developments in the industry to ensure that our High-Performance Green Cleaning Program reflects the highest modern standards and employs state-of-the-art practices, products, and equipment. We use independent third-party certifying organizations including the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Green Seal, and the Carpet & Rug Institute to ensure that all aspects of EMI's High-Performance Green Cleaning Program incorporate the highest standards in the industry today.

By using EMI, clients earn points towards achieving the USGBC's coveted Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance, or LEED-EB: O&M.

U.S. Green Builing Council - LEED

EMI proudly uses Green Seal-certified products for every serviced property. Our High-Performance Green Cleaning Program, used for every client, not only meets but exceeds the requirements of Green Seal's (GS)-42 Environmental Standard for Cleaning Services. "Green cleaning" is more than simply using certified products and equipment. This standard assesses how such products and equipment are applied, how waste and chemicals are handled, and the extent to which the cleaning process protects human health and the environment.

We Proudly Use Green Seal Certified Products

Because carpet cleaning can significantly impact the air quality indoors, EMI uses only high-performance vacuum cleaners (including HEPA filtration systems) and carpet-cleaning products approved by the Carpet and Rug Institute.
